Here's something strange.
Every stablecoin you've ever heard of; USDT or USDC; they're both pegged to the dollar.
Which is fine if you're American.
But you're not. You earn in Rands. You pay your team in Rands. Your rent, your groceries, that supplier in Pretoria, all in Rands.
So why does the "stable" money in crypto still expect you to think in dollars?
That question is exactly why we built ZAR8.

1 ZAR8 = 1 ZAR.
It's stable money in your own currency.
There isn’t any exchange rate gymnastics or watching the Rand wobble before you can spend.
It’s a Rand that is Digital; the way it should've been from the start.
(and because it’s digital we can give it even more capabilities, which we will chat about as time goes.)
Bitcoin will still be on 80eight for the long hold. ZAR8 will be the working layer underneath. Two completely different jobs so two completely different reasons to use them.
ZAR8 isn't live yet, but it's coming. And when it does…
Well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Until next week,
Faadil
Chief Executive Officer @ 80eight
