Bitcoin just had its biggest three-day rally since 2023.
From under $63,000 to briefly topping $80,000 in a week. Ether's sitting near its highest level since January. The market's calling it extreme greed for the first time since 2024.
But that's not the whole week.
US Federal Reserve chair Kevin Warsh spoke at the Fed's annual Jackson Hole symposium, and markets read it as more hawkish than expected. September's rate call just got harder to predict.
Oil swung from $79 to $90 and back to $83 a barrel, after Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan signed a new mutual defence pact that reshuffled the geopolitical chessboard.
Back home, SA inflation ticked up to 5.0%, the highest since June 2024, with GDP (economic growth) figures due out next week.

Here's the thing though...
Money's still chasing infrastructure. Venture firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) closed a $1.1 billion fund for AI's physical backbone: chips, data centres, power.
Pan-African fintech Moment raised $22 million to move payments across a fragmented continent.
We're watching all of it, so you don't have to check five tabs before your first coffee.

Until next week,
